Beyond Academics/Activities

Beyond Academics:

1. Field trips / Picnic:

Field trips/ Picnic give students educational experiences away from their regular school environment. We believe that Field trips can serve the purpose of breaking the monotony of regular classroom sessions, bringing in a feeling of independence, co-operative learning and a sense of responsibility.

Students are taken to Science Museum, Zoo, Aquarium, Nursery,  Hospital, Post office and to places of historical importance.

2.Art Education:

Art and painting is a compulsory subject in our school for all the classes.

Art education helps to explore various means of communication (verbal and non- verbal). It encourages to develop creative expression and sharpens senses through keen observation of the environment. UHCS believes that art education is an opportunity to nurture children to find truth through imagination, effort, collaboration, and cultural literacy.  Art Education Increases self-confidence and self-understanding, enhanced communication skills, and improved cognition among children.

Every year our Students  participate in National level drawing competitions conducted by various organizations like….

 3. Sports / Physical and Health education:

The school views Physical and Health education as an important component in each student’s Schooling and development. The school offers students the opportunity to purse a wide range of sports and outdoor education interests. The school has an excellent play field for all major games. Yoga training is given to students of all classes regularly. Environmental education and training in life skills is an integral part of the curriculum.

Sports develop a sense of friendliness as well as team spirit. They help children to develop their mental and physical toughness. There are many benefits of games and sports in education. games gradually build up a healthy body and make the mind energetic. We want all our students to become bright and healthy. Therefore, we have made games and sports not optional but compulsory in education at all levels, so that approach to it may be sincere, not casual.

4.Music Room:

Music room has Indian musical instruments such as keyboard, Congo drums, Base drum, snare drum, electronic tambura etc which are used to conduct assembly and classroom teaching.

5.Clubs

UHCS nourish our students for the challenges of the future, simultaneously ensuring that the pressure of today’s competitive world does not swallow up their childhood. In order to bring about the complete development of the child’s personality, considerable emphasis is laid on co-curricular activities, which challenge not only the physical but also the mental capabilities of our learners. Various clubs catering to the social, emotional and aesthetic needs are functional in the school.

A high quality school assembly is one of the most important aspects of a school’s curriculum.  Our Assemblies are based on a set of academics, values, such as love, peace, truth, co-operation and respect.  Active participation of the students and teachers takes place every morning in the assembly in a very planned way focusing on various social, religious and patriotic aspects. These values act as the foundation for the personal, social and emotional development of the students.
